  Encrypted messaging app Telegram has started rolling out its latest monthly update for Android and iOS devices, adding numerous new features for users. Some significant features include protected content in groups and channels, deleting messages by date, log in via calls, and many others. "The new Protected Content feature will help creators protect the content they publish on Telegram and ensure that it is available only for their intended audience. In order to provide complete control to users over their digital footprint, the Delete by Date feature will enable them to easily find and delete date specific chats from the history," the company said in a statement.   Swedish caller identification app Truecaller on Thursday rolled out its latest version 12 with a new Video Caller ID feature addition, call recording for free users, and a redesigned user interface (UI).   Google launched the latest Google Pixel smartphones Tuesday, betting on its first custom-designed system processor and a new version of the Android operating system to lure buyers away from Apple Inc.’s iPhone.   Popular audio chat app Clubhouse has officially launched a new way to invite people to audio chats called "Wave". The company announced the news at a surprise town hall on Thursday and is enabling the feature for all users on iOS and Android, reports The Verge. With Wave, users can invite friends to a live audio room just by tapping a waving hand emoji. Once they receive their invitation, they can choose to join your call and immediately get added to an audio room. To send a Wave, users can swipe right on the Hallway or tap the dots icon at the bottom left of the screen. Then tape the wave button next to the person they would like to chat with. Mashable India quoted a report by XDADevelopers that says the 'Camera Switches feature', which is one of the accessibility services in the Android Accessibility Suite app, will support setting gestures to specific controls.   Google has released the fourth beta of its upcoming Android 12 operating system that offers several new consumer-focused capabilities for the developers including Game Mode, AppSearch, new notification style for phone calls and others. The Game Mode allows developers to optimise gameplay by prioritizing characteristics, such as performance or battery life based on users settings or game specific configurations.   Cyber-security researchers have identified a stash of 167 counterfeit Android and iOS apps being used by hackers to steal money from people who believe they have installed a financial trading, banking or cryptocurrency app from a trusted organisation. Researchers at cyber-security firm Sophos investigated the fake apps and found that many were very similar. The attackers targeted users through dating sites and lured victims into installing money-stealing apps disguised as popular brands. Some apps included an embedded customer support "chat" option. When researchers tried to communicate with the support teams using the chat, the replies they received used near-identical language.   Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus ' gaming triggers for Android and iOS smartphones are now available in India for Rs 1,099. The company hasn't confirmed that these gaming triggers will be releasing globally, reports The Verge. These triggers can be clipped around the edge of most smartphones -- any Android or iOS device, so long as they're less than 11.5mm thick with a case on. If you want to do some mobile gaming but hate touch controls, these could provide a more intuitive, controller-like alternative to tapping on your screen, the report said. The popular automated transcription service Otter.ai can now transcribe Google Meet calls in real time with a new Chrome extension. "The Otter.ai Chrome Extension lets you transcribe and caption Google Meet in real time, and save audio transcripts to your Otter account," the company described in a new update.
