Twitter may soon allow users to add videos, pictures in same tweet: Report

  In a bid to make the platform more user-friendly, micro-blogging site Twitter is reportedly working on new features, including mixed-media tweets and more. According to 9To5Google, this week, Twitter for Android has revealed support for adding both pictures and videos to the same tweet, hints at tweet "awards" and more. The report mentioned that Twitter seems to finally be making it possible to tweet both a picture and a video in the same tweet. As it stands today, tweets with media can include a gallery of up to four photos or a single video, with no mix of the two.  Click Here

Musk invited to UK Parliament to discuss $44 billion Twitter buyout

  Tech billionaire Elon Musk has been invited to testify in the UK Parliament regarding his proposed $44 billion acquisition of the micro-blogging site Twitter . In a letter, Julian Knight, the Chair of the UK House of Commons Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Select Committee requested the Tesla CEO to appear before lawmakers to discuss the proposal. "At a time when social media companies face the prospect of tighter regulations around the world, we are keen to learn more about how Mr Musk will balance his clear commitment to free speech with new obligations to protect Twitter's users from online harms," Knight said. Microsoft rolls out new feature for Office Insiders for iPhone users

  Tech giant Microsoft has reportedly launched a new feature for Office Insiders that will allow iPhone users to listen to documents with their screen locked. According to Windows Central, the Insider version of Word on iOS now supports listening to documents even when a device's screen is locked. Additionally, the Insider Office Mobile app now keeps track of PDF email attachments sent to Outlook. The documents will appear within the Shared tab in Office Mobile. "Using this feature on your iOS device is a great way to step away from the screen and give your eyes a break while listening to documents," reads the changelog from the Office Insider website. YouTube TV launches picture-in-picture support for iPhone, iPad

  YouTube TV on Thursday announced that it has started rolling out picture-in-picture (PiP) to its iPhone and iPad app. "We are happy to share that picture-in-picture is now rolling out to your iOS 15+ devices. Simply select a video to watch and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to the device's homepage. The video can scale down and move across your screen," the firm said in a tweet. However, picture-in-picture support is not yet available for all mobile users of the YouTube application. WhatsApp to increase maximum file transfer size to 2 GB: Report

  Meta-owned encrypted messaging service WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to share bigger-sized files and media with others over their platform. According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp will soon start testing the " Media File Size " feature in Argentina which will allow users to share media files up to 2GB in size. The feature will initially be limited to Beta testers in Argentina. As for the feature, it will soon be available on both Android and iOS devices of Beta testers in Argentina. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg planning to launch NFTs on Instagram

  As NFTs are all the rage these days, Facebook chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg is planning to let Instagram users mint non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the social media platform. As per The Verge, Mark made the announcement at the session at South By Southwest, but did not provide a specific date for when NFTs might drop on Instagram. Apple iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4 with mask unlock, new emoji released

  Apple has started rolling out iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for compatible models. This new update includes several minor changes, along with a major update to Face ID. The iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 updates can be downloaded for free. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update. iOS 15.4 adds an option to use Face ID while wearing a mask. iPadOS 15.4 introduces Universal Control, allowing multiple Macs and iPads to be controlled with the same mouse/trackpad and keyboard.   Chinese electronics maker Realme on Thursday launched the Realme 9 5G and Realme 9 SE (Speed Edition) 5G smartphones in India. These are new additions in the Realme 9 series . Other smartphones in the series are the Realme 9i, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9 Pro+. The Realme 9 5G will be available in 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB configurations priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 17,499, respectively. The Realme 9 SE will be available in 6GB+128GB configuration priced at Rs 22,999. Both the smartphones will be available on Realme online portal, Flipkart, and select retail stores from March 14. Fitbit recalls millions of 'Ionic' smartwatches after battery burn reports

  Google-owned wearable brand Fitbit on Wednesday said it is recalling its 'Ionic' smartwatch following reports of an overheating battery and potential burn injury. Fitbit ionic smartwatch The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in the US said in a statement that at least 115 people in the US -- and 59 globally -- have reported an overheating battery on the device. There were 118 reports of burns, with two reports of third-degree burns and four reports of second-degree burns. "Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Ionic smartwatches and contact Fitbit to receive pre-paid packaging to return the device" the commission warned. Click Here

Facebook parent Meta's social VR platform Horizon hits 300,000 users

  Meta's social virtual reality (VR) platform Horizon has reached 300,000 monthly users, a growth of 10 times since its roll-out in early December. According to a report in The Verge, Meta spokesperson Joe Osborne confirmed this, saying it included users of Horizon Worlds and Horizon Venues which is a separate app for attending live events in VR. Horizon Worlds was rolled out to Oculus Quest VR headset users in the US and Canada in early December. "It's time. 10,000 worlds have already been created. Drop in and play, build or just hang out. The possibilities are endless," Horizon Worlds posted in a tweet. Horizon Worlds was recently featured in Meta's Super Bowl ad, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called it "core to our metaverse vision". Apple update lets you unlock iPhone with Face ID while wearing a mask

  Apple Inc.’s next iPhone software update will finally address a grumble that’s been bugging users since the Covid pandemic started: You’ll finally be able to unlock your phone without first taking off your mask. Apple Music free trial slashed down from three to one month

  American tech giant Apple's three-month free trial for new users has been reduced down to one month in some countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the UK among others. Apple Music free trial As per GSM Arena, this move does not affect the limited six-month trial program awarded for a limited time with the purchase of some Apple devices, like AirPods, HomePod mini and some Beats products. Apple Watch helping the elderly meet daily activity goals: Study

  A team of researchers who used activity data shared from the Apple Heart and Movement Study has found that participants ages 65 and older were more likely than their younger counterparts to stay on track, meeting their goal of at least 150 minutes of activity per week. Apple Watch Heart study The researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital in the US, in collaboration with the American Heart Association and Apple, found that after analysing more than 18 million workouts logged using Apple Watch during the pandemic, study participants relied on getting their activity minutes in by walking, cycling, and running the most. Across genders and ages, participants with above-average Cardio Fitness levels averaged more than 200 minutes of activity per week, while those with high Cardio Fitness averaged more than 300 minutes of activity per week, the findings showed.
