Hrithik Roshan's statement to be recorded tomorrow in case against Kangana

  Bollywood megastar Hrithik Roshan has been summoned to appear before the Mumbai crime branch at 11 am on Saturday to record his statement in a case he registered against actor Kangana Ranaut in 2016 involving an exchange of emails between the two. In 2016, Roshan had filed a complaint alleging that someone impersonating him was emailing Ranaut from a bogus email id. Kangana had then claimed that the email id was provided to her by Roshan and they had been communicating through the same email id till 2014. The emails were allegedly sent in 2013 and 2014. Mumbai police get gangster Ravi Pujari's custody till Mar 9 in firing case

Gangster Ravi Pujari was brought here from Bengaluru on Tuesday and produced before a special court which remanded him in the custody of Mumbai police till March 9 in a case of firing in 2016. Earlier, Pujari was brought to India from South Africa in February last year after being on the run for several years and was lodged in a jail in Bengaluru. Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max is most popular 5G smartphone in US: Report

The most expensive 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro has won the title of the most popular 5G phone in 49 of 50 states in the US. According to PCMag, citing data from Speedtest.net parent company Ookla and research firm M Science, the title was given based on sales tracking and data from the internet until January 23. M Science tracks cumulative sales of 5G phones in the US. Haridwar: Kumbh preparations underway, registration, Covid report mandatory

The preparations are underway for Kumbh Mela 2021 to be held from 1st to 30th April in Haridwar. The Uttarakhand government has decided to limit the Kumbh this year to 30 days.   Australia's government said on Tuesday it will amend draft laws that would make Google and Facebook pay for news to clarify that publishers would be paid in lump sums rather than per click on news article links. The legislative changes described in a government statement as clarifications and technical amendments follow Australian ministers' weekend discussions with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai, chief executive of Alphabet Inc. and its subsidiary Google. Fodder Scam: Jharkhand HC defers Lalu Prasad's bail plea to Feb 19

The Jharkhand High Court on Friday deferred to February 19 hearing on the bail plea of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the fodder scam case. Yadav, who had been in prison since December 2017, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in 2018 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and seven years under the Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the fodder scam case . The case pertains to the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.5 crores from the Dumka treasury by Animal Husbandry Department officials between 1991 and 1996 when Yadav served as the State's Chief Minister. YouTube cracks down on music videos related to farmers' protests

Google-owned YouTube on Tuesday blocked a music video by famous Punjabi singer Kanwar Grewal titled 'Ailaan' that was related to the farmer protests and raked in over 60 lakh views. YouTube has placed a notification on the original video, saying "This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government". A YouTube spokesperson said in a statement: "We comply with valid legal requests from authorities wherever possible, consistent with our longstanding policy and act quickly to remove identified content". IndiGo appoints Jiten Chopra as CFO after Aditya Pande resigns

  Low-cost airline IndiGo on Tuesday appointed Jiten Chopra as its chief financial officer (CFO), effective February 21, 2021, and will succeed Aditya Pande, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Chopra will report to IndiGo's whole-time director and CEO Ronojoy Dutta . He joined the airline in February 2020 as head of governance, risk, and compliance. Xiaomi launches Mi 11 smartphone with 108MP camera, Snapdragon 888 chipset

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship smartphone "Mi 11" in the global market through a virtual event that features Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform, making it one of the first smartphones to come with this processor. The smartphone comes in two storage variants -- 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB at Euro 749 and Euro 799, respectively -- and it will be available from March. Xiaomi Mi 11 features 6.81-inch AMOLED panel with WQHD+ resolution, a 120Hz maximum refresh rate and 1500 nits maximum brightness. It supports HDR10+ and 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. Apple iOS 14.5 to let users set Spotify as default music service

The upcoming Apple iOS update will let users select a third-party default music service like Spotify when they ask to play a song using Siri. When you ask Siri to play a song on the upcoming iOS 14.5, you would be prompted to select which app you want to use to play it, reports MacRumors. Instagram testing vertical feed for Stories to improve user experience

Facebook-owned Instagram is now working on new vertical feed for Stories, the way TikTok first used and Reels on Instagram has already cloned the feature. According to a TechCrunch report, navigating with vertical swipes up and down would make Stories experience more like Reels, recently launched by Facebook to compete with the Chinese short-video making app. Vertical swiping feels more natural than taps and horizontal flicks, the way we do on smartphones and other apps. The Delhi High Court Wednesday sought the Centre's response on a plea challenging the new privacy policy of instant messaging platform WhatsApp. A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and WhatsApp seeking their stand on the plea by March. Microsoft backs Australia's proposed media laws targeting Google, Facebook

(Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday it fully supported proposed new laws in Australia that would force internet giant Google and social media heavyweight Facebook Inc to pay domestic media outlets for their content. "While Microsoft is not subject to the legislation currently pending, we'd be willing to live by these rules if the government designates us," the software giant said in a statement.   Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput 's friend and assistant director Rishikesh Pawar who was on Tuesday detained for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will be produced before a court today, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said. China's tech corporation Xiaomi sues US over investment ban: Details here

Chinese conglomerate Xiaomi on Sunday said that it has filed a lawsuit against the US Defense and Treasury departments, seeking reversal of a decision to block US investments. The company filed the lawsuit in the US District Court of Columbia on January 29. "With a view to protecting the interests of the global users, partners, employees and shareholders of the company, the company has pleaded to the courts to declare the decision illegal and that it be reversed," Xiaomi said in a statement.
