E-scooter fires: Govt orders forensic probe; to take action after report

  The government has taken very seriously the four incidents of fire in two-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) in the past one week and will take appropriate action against the manufacturers after a forensic investigation, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari told Lok Sabha on Thursday. E-scooter fires He also said that as on March 25, as many as 10,76,420 EVs were registered in the country and 1,742 public charging stations (PCS) were operational. "A total of four incidents of fire in two-wheeler EVs have been reported in the past one week and this is a very serious issue. We have ordered a forensic investigation into each of the individual events from experts of Centre for Fire Explosive, DRDO and IISc, Bengaluru," he said during Question Hour. Read More

'Randhir Kapoor in early stage of dementia, asked where is Rishi Kapoor'

  Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor is in the early stage of dementia, his nephew actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed. According to Ranbir, the 75-year-old actor recently saw " Sharmaji Namkeen ", which marks the last screen appearance of his younger brother, actor Rishi Kapoor. Rishi passed away at the age of 67 in April 2020 after a two-year long battle with leukemia. In an interview with NDTV, Ranbir said when Randhir saw the film, his instant reaction was to call Rishi. Comedian Chris Rock 'still processing' Will Smith's slap at the Oscars

  Comedian Chris Rock has finally broken his silence on Will Smith slapping him at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. During a stand-up show in Boston on Wednesday, Rock walked out to two boisterous standing ovations that lasted roughly two minutes, The Hollywood Reporter said. Rock, 57 opened his comedy with, "How was your weekend?" which was greeted with laughter, the outlet informed. YouTube TV launches picture-in-picture support for iPhone, iPad

  YouTube TV on Thursday announced that it has started rolling out picture-in-picture (PiP) to its iPhone and iPad app. "We are happy to share that picture-in-picture is now rolling out to your iOS 15+ devices. Simply select a video to watch and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to the device's homepage. The video can scale down and move across your screen," the firm said in a tweet. However, picture-in-picture support is not yet available for all mobile users of the YouTube application. "We really appreciate your patience while we worked on enabling this key feature for your iOS 15+ devices. We hope you enjoy this easy way to stream," the firm added. Read More

WhatsApp to increase maximum file transfer size to 2 GB: Report

  Meta-owned encrypted messaging service WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to share bigger-sized files and media with others over their platform. According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp will soon start testing the " Media File Size " feature in Argentina which will allow users to share media files up to 2GB in size. The feature will initially be limited to Beta testers in Argentina. As for the feature, it will soon be available on both Android and iOS devices of Beta testers in Argentina. NCB seeks 90 more days to file charge-sheet in case involving Aryan Khan

  The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Monday filed an application before a Mumbai sessions court seeking an extension of 90 days to file a charge-sheet in an alleged drugs case in which Aryan Khan , son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is an accused, contending probe in the matter was still on. A Special Investigation Team of the NCB was supposed to file the charge-sheet in the case by April. However, the central agency filed the application before a court presided over by Judge VV Patil praying it be granted an additional 90 days to file the document since its investigation in the high-profile case was still on. In accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), the drug law enforcement outfit was supposed to file the charge-sheet in the October 2021 case within 180 days of the registration of the FIR. In case a prosecuting agency requires further time, the CrPC allows it to seek a maximum extension of another 90 days to file such a document.  Read Full Article Here

'The Kashmir Files' hits a century at box office, mints Rs 106.8 cr so far

  Vivek Agnihotri's latest directorial venture, ' The Kashmir Files ', is continuing its winning streak at the box office. The film, featuring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi, has entered the 100 crore club. The news was shared by the director on his Instagram handle on the occasion of Holi.  'The Kashmir Files', which revolves around the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, had released in theatres on March 11. Netflix may soon ask extra money for sharing your account with others

  Popular video streaming platform Netflix is planning to pause password sharing outside a single household by charging users extra for doing so. Netflix Password Sharing "While these have been hugely popular, they have also created some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared. As a result, accounts are being shared between households impacting our ability to invest in great new TV and films for our members," Chengyi Long, Netflix's director of product innovation, said in a statement. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg planning to launch NFTs on Instagram

  As NFTs are all the rage these days, Facebook chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg is planning to let Instagram users mint non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the social media platform. As per The Verge, Mark made the announcement at the session at South By Southwest, but did not provide a specific date for when NFTs might drop on Instagram.   Apple has started rolling out iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for compatible models. This new update includes several minor changes, along with a major update to Face ID. The iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 updates can be downloaded for free. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update. iOS 15.4 adds an option to use Face ID while wearing a mask. iPadOS 15.4 introduces Universal Control, allowing multiple Macs and iPads to be controlled with the same mouse/trackpad and keyboard. Fitbit recalls millions of 'Ionic' smartwatches after battery burn reports

  Google-owned wearable brand Fitbit on Wednesday said it is recalling its 'Ionic' smartwatch following reports of an overheating battery and potential burn injury. Fitbit ionic smartwatch The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in the US said in a statement that at least 115 people in the US -- and 59 globally -- have reported an overheating battery on the device. There were 118 reports of burns, with two reports of third-degree burns and four reports of second-degree burns. "Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Ionic smartwatches and contact Fitbit to receive pre-paid packaging to return the device" the commission warned. Click Here

  Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest directorial venture " Gangubai Kathiawadi ", starring Alia Bhatt , has earned Rs 39.12 crore over the weekend, the makers said on Monday. Actor Sonu Sood booked in Moga for violating poll orders in Punjab

  Police have booked actor Sonu Sood for violating orders of the Moga additional district magistrate in connection with the model code of conduct. A case was registered against Sood under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code on Sunday in Moga district, according to an FIR. Polling to the 117-member Punjab assembly elections was held on Sunday. The Election Commission on Sunday had restrained the actor and philanthropist from visiting polling stations in Moga after receiving complaints that he was allegedly influencing voters.
