Windows 11 to require laptops to have high-quality webcams: Report

  As part of the rush of news surrounding its new operating system, Microsoft has declared that starting January 1, 2023, all new laptops running on Windows 11 will need to have a front-facing camera. According to Android Authority, this likely has to do with Windows Hello, which is Microsoft 's facial recognition system that allows you to use your face as biometric security. Windows 11 puts a heavy emphasis on the importance of security. For those concerned with privacy, this means a trip to the office supply store to grab more tape with which to cover up the pesky little lenses, Windows Central reported.   OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei's new venture Nothing has partnered with Flipkart for the launch of its true wireless earbuds ‘Ear (1)’ in India. The London-based consumer tech company hasn’t yet revealed the launch date or the specifications of the product, but only said that it would sell through Flipkart and customers would be offered no-cost EMI options and free delivery.   After weeks of leaks and hype, tech giant Microsoft has officially announced the next version of its desktop operating system (OS) -- Windows 11 . The new OS will be a free upgrade for Windows 10 users and will start rolling out "this holiday". "We have simplified the design and user experience to empower your productivity and inspire your creativity. It's modern, fresh, clean and beautiful," Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, Windows + Devices, said in a statement.   Tesla Inc chief Elon Musk is considering holding an AI Day in about a month, where the Silicon Valley billionaire will showcase the progress in AI software and hardware with an aim to recruit. "Looking at holding Tesla AI Day in about a month or so. Will go over progress with Tesla AI software & hardware, both training & inference. Purpose is recruiting," Musk tweeted on Monday. Facebook, WhatsApp urge Delhi HC to stay CCI notice in privacy matter

  Facebook and WhatsApp on Monday urged the Delhi High Court (HC) to stay the Competition Commission of India (CCI) notice asking them to furnish certain information in relation to a probe ordered by it into the instant messaging app’s new privacy policy . A vacation bench of Justices Anup Jairam Bhambhani and Jasmeet Singh said it will pass an order on the application. During the hearing, the Bench said since it was sitting on a vacation Bench, it did not want to delve into the merits of the matter even as the main petitions are pending before a bench headed by the Chief Justice. “We will pass an order. 'Cyberpunk 2077' will return to PlayStation Store on June 21: Report

  Six months after Sony pulled down Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store , PS 4 and PS5 owners will soon be able to buy the digital version of the RPG once again. CD Projekt Red revealed in a regulatory announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on the PlayStation Store as of June 21, Engadget citing Eurogamer, reported. "In relation to Current Report no. 66/2020 of 18 December 2020, the Management Board of CD Projekt S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw hereby publicly discloses the decision by Sony Interactive Entertainment to reinstate the availability of the digital edition of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store, effective on 21 June 2021," the announcement reads. Musk says Tesla will accept bitcoins when miners use more clean energy

  Tesla Inc Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk tweeted on Sunday that the electric carmarker will resume allowing bitcoin transactions when miners who verify transactions use more renewable energy. "When there's confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners with positive future trend, Tesla will resume allowing Bitcoin transactions," he said in a tweet. Bitcoin rose 5.1% to $37,360.63 at 1810 GMT (2:10 p.m. ET) on Sunday, adding $1,817.87 to its previous close, after Musk's tweet. Musk also said that Tesla sold about 10% of holdings to confirm bitcoin could be liquidated easily without moving market. He announced in May that Tesla would no longer accept bitcoin for car purchases, citing long-brewing environmental concerns for a swift reversal in the company's position on the cryptocurrency. At Rs 24.5 crore, ransomware data recovery cost triples in India

  The recovery cost from the impact of a ransomware attack tripled in the last year in India -- up from $1.1 million (over Rs 8 crore) in 2020 to $3.38 million (more than Rs 24.5 crore) in 2021 to date -- as the country topped the list of 30 countries worldwide for ransomware attacks, a new report said on Tuesday. Ransomware Cyber Attacks The average ransom payment in India was $76,619 (over Rs 55 lakh). However, paying up often doesn't pay off as Indian organizations that paid the ransom got back, on average, 75 per cent of their data and only 4 per cent got all their data back, according to 'The State of Ransomware 2021' report by global cybersecurity leader Sophos. The findings showed that 67 per cent of Indian organizations whose data was encrypted paid a ransom to get back their data -- a slight increase on the previous year when 66 per cent paid a ransom.
