  Samsung has announced that it is partnering with iFixIt , the premier online destination for tech repair to fix Galaxy devices without paying a professional to do it. The Galaxy S20 and S21 smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Tab S7+, will be the first devices to get this support when the programme rolls out this summer.   Samsung has been upgrading its budget and midrange smartphones to make them ready for the upcoming 5G network. Fresh in the South Korean electronics maker’s 5G smartphone portfolio, the Galaxy A52s is based on the Galaxy A52. The upgraded model is powered by a newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G system-on-chip, which brings with it 5G network support and a boost in performance over the predecessor’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC.   South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to unveil a new budget 5G smartphone Galaxy Wide5 and that might launch as Galaxy F42 5G in India. According to GizmoChina, ahead of its official unveiling, the smartphone has arrived on Geekbench certification, revealing its key specs. According to the Geekbench portal, the Samsung Galaxy Wide5 a.k.a the Galaxy F42 5G runs on the latest Android 11 out of the box. It scores 558 single-core points and 1513 multi-core points.   Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil its latest Samsung foldable smartphones next month with lower price tags compared with its predecessors, industry sources said on Saturday. The South Korean tech giant is expected to start sales of the Galaxy Z Fold3 at around 1.99 million won ($1,744), which is 17 percent lower than the 2.39 million won set for the previous model, according to the sources. The price of the Galaxy Z Flip3 is also expected to be around 22 percent lower than the predecessor at 1.28 million won, reports Yonhap news agency. The latest strategy apparently comes in line with Samsung's effort to boost sales of its foldable smartphones and gain advantages in terms of the price as its archrival Apple Inc. is also set to unveil new models later this year.   Samsung Electronics is considering launching the upcoming budget model of the Galaxy S21 smartphone in the US and Europe only, industry sources said on Friday, due to global semiconductor shortages. Samsung is reviewing a plan to release the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) in the US and Europe after skipping the domestic market and other countries following the tight supply of mobile application processors, according to the sources. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will be reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor from Qualcomm Inc. But due to supply issues, the South Korean tech giant may also use in-house Exynos chips, the sources said, according to Yonhap news agency.   Samsung has said it will release its smart tracking tag on the market this week as the South Korean tech giant tries to expand its mobile ecosystem with advanced communications solutions. Samsung said the Galaxy SmartTag will go on sale in South Korea on Tuesday with a price tag of 29,700 won ($26).  Brands like  Realme  and  Samsung  have topped the consumers preferences in the most competitive Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 price segment in India, a new report said on Monday. The top three drivers for consumer satisfaction in the above mentioned price segment include smartphone camera (86 per cent), performance (81 per cent) and battery life (77 per cent). According to a CMR 'Insights On the Go Survey', consumers in this price segment seek the best specs and highest quality. They seek to invest in the future by getting 5G capable phones (72 per cent), with enhanced capabilities for camera (66 per cent), and wireless charging (61 per cent).
