Apple Watch helping the elderly meet daily activity goals: Study

  A team of researchers who used activity data shared from the Apple Heart and Movement Study has found that participants ages 65 and older were more likely than their younger counterparts to stay on track, meeting their goal of at least 150 minutes of activity per week. Apple Watch Heart study The researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital in the US, in collaboration with the American Heart Association and Apple, found that after analysing more than 18 million workouts logged using Apple Watch during the pandemic, study participants relied on getting their activity minutes in by walking, cycling, and running the most. Across genders and ages, participants with above-average Cardio Fitness levels averaged more than 200 minutes of activity per week, while those with high Cardio Fitness averaged more than 300 minutes of activity per week, the findings showed. Apple Watch Series 8 may not feature a body temperature sensor

  Apple Watch 8 is rumoured to arrive later this year and now a new report has claimed that the advanced sensors, such as those for measuring body temperature as well as blood sugar, may not arrive on this year's Watch. According to Mark Gurman's "Power On" newsletter it is unlikely that the Apple Watch Series 8 will house a body temperature sensor, reports The Verge. Gurman wrote, "Don't expect any of these soon, though. Body temperature was on this year's roadmap, but chatter about it has slowed down recently. Blood pressure is at least two to three years away, while I wouldn't be surprised if glucose monitoring doesn't land until later in the second half of the decade." Read Full Article Here

Three new Apple Watch models to launch in 2022, says report

  Cupertino based tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to launch three new Apple Watch models next year. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 2022 Apple Watch lineup will include the Apple Watch Series 8, the second-generation Apple Watch SE, and a new "extreme sports" version, reports MacRumors. The Apple Watch SE 2 will be in line with the original SE model that was launched in the year 2020. The original Apple Watch SE 2 features designs similar to the regular Apple Watch models , but lacks some of the advanced features, such as always-on display, blood oxygen sensor, and ECG functionality. Apple to release new watch on October 15 following production snags

  Apple Inc. set a release date of Oct. 15 for its latest smartwatch, a sign that it’s coping with production challenges that had dogged the new device. The company plans to begin taking orders for the product -- called the Apple Watch Series 7 -- this Friday, Oct. 8, starting at 8 a.m. New York time. It will then hit stores a week later, Apple said in a statement on its website. The Series 7 watch was unveiled on Sept. 14, but Apple left the release date vague at the time, saying it would be “later this fall.” The device has a bigger display, marking the first time the company has enlarged the watch’s screen since the Series 4 three years ago. Apple unveils Watch Series 7 with redesigned display, new features

  In a bid to help users improve overall wellness, tech giant Apple has announced Watch Series 7 that offers new apps, including Mindfulness app and Tai Chi along with other new features. Apple Watch Series 7 will start at $399, Watch SE starts at $279 and Watch Series 3 starts at $199 in the US. The watches are available to order from apple.com/store and the Apple Store app, with availability in stores beginning September 16. "Apple Watch Series 7 delivers significant improvements -- from our largest and most advanced display to enhanced durability and faster charging -- making the world's best smartwatch better than ever before," Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer, said in a statement late Tuesday. Soon you will be able to unlock your iPhone with Face ID even when with a Covid-19 mask on, but only if you are wearing an Apple Watch. In the next iOS 14 update, Apple Watch will give you haptic feedback to let you know your iPhone has been unlocked, reports Pocket-lint.
