Microsoft rolls out new feature for Office Insiders for iPhone users

  Tech giant Microsoft has reportedly launched a new feature for Office Insiders that will allow iPhone users to listen to documents with their screen locked. According to Windows Central, the Insider version of Word on iOS now supports listening to documents even when a device's screen is locked. Additionally, the Insider Office Mobile app now keeps track of PDF email attachments sent to Outlook. The documents will appear within the Shared tab in Office Mobile. "Using this feature on your iOS device is a great way to step away from the screen and give your eyes a break while listening to documents," reads the changelog from the Office Insider website. Though similar to the last generation model with regard to design, which looks underwhelming due to small screen footprint and thick bezels, it goes strong with all the improvements the new chip brings to the table. Among other things, the Apple A15 Bionic brings significant improvement in both processes and graphics performance. Apple iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4 with mask unlock, new emoji released

  Apple has started rolling out iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for compatible models. This new update includes several minor changes, along with a major update to Face ID. The iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 updates can be downloaded for free. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update. iOS 15.4 adds an option to use Face ID while wearing a mask. iPadOS 15.4 introduces Universal Control, allowing multiple Macs and iPads to be controlled with the same mouse/trackpad and keyboard. Universal Control requires all participating iPad and Mac devices to be running iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3 or later, respectively. Read More

Apple Watch Series 8 may not feature a body temperature sensor

  Apple Watch 8 is rumoured to arrive later this year and now a new report has claimed that the advanced sensors, such as those for measuring body temperature as well as blood sugar, may not arrive on this year's Watch. According to Mark Gurman's "Power On" newsletter it is unlikely that the Apple Watch Series 8 will house a body temperature sensor, reports The Verge. Gurman wrote, "Don't expect any of these soon, though. Body temperature was on this year's roadmap, but chatter about it has slowed down recently. Blood pressure is at least two to three years away, while I wouldn't be surprised if glucose monitoring doesn't land until later in the second half of the decade." Read Full Article Here

  Encrypted messaging app Telegram has started rolling out its latest monthly update for Android and iOS devices, adding numerous new features for users. Some significant features include protected content in groups and channels, deleting messages by date, log in via calls, and many others. "The new Protected Content feature will help creators protect the content they publish on Telegram and ensure that it is available only for their intended audience. In order to provide complete control to users over their digital footprint, the Delete by Date feature will enable them to easily find and delete date specific chats from the history," the company said in a statement. Hackers stealing money via 167 fake trading, crypto apps on Android, iOS

  Cyber-security researchers have identified a stash of 167 counterfeit Android and iOS apps being used by hackers to steal money from people who believe they have installed a financial trading, banking or cryptocurrency app from a trusted organisation. Researchers at cyber-security firm Sophos investigated the fake apps and found that many were very similar. The attackers targeted users through dating sites and lured victims into installing money-stealing apps disguised as popular brands. Some apps included an embedded customer support "chat" option. When researchers tried to communicate with the support teams using the chat, the replies they received used near-identical language. The researchers also uncovered a single server loaded with 167 fake trading and cryptocurrency apps. Read More

Clubhouse arrives on Android a year after launch on Apple's iOS platform

  The popular invite-only audio chat app Clubhouse has finally arrived on Android after spending a year on the Apple iOS platform. Clubhouse for Android has started rolling out in beta from Monday, beginning with the US, followed by other English-speaking countries and then the rest of the world. "Our plan over the next few weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix any issues we see and work to add a few final features like payments and club creation before rolling it out more broadly," the company said in a statement. OnePlus Gaming Triggers for Android, iOS smartphone now available in India

  Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus ' gaming triggers for Android and iOS smartphones are now available in India for Rs 1,099. The company hasn't confirmed that these gaming triggers will be releasing globally, reports The Verge. These triggers can be clipped around the edge of most smartphones -- any Android or iOS device, so long as they're less than 11.5mm thick with a case on. If you want to do some mobile gaming but hate touch controls, these could provide a more intuitive, controller-like alternative to tapping on your screen, the report said. Each trigger appears to have just one shoulder button with an Omron switch that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau says is "pleasingly clicky" to tap. Click Here

The most expensive 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro has won the title of the most popular 5G phone in 49 of 50 states in the US. According to PCMag, citing data from Speedtest.net parent company Ookla and research firm M Science, the title was given based on sales tracking and data from the internet until January 23. M Science tracks cumulative sales of 5G phones in the US. The latest flagship 5G iPhone 12 series was launched in October 2020, and immediately it was reported that the Pro and Pro Max models have been successful in attracting consumers. Apple iOS 14.5 to let users set Spotify as default music service

The upcoming Apple iOS update will let users select a third-party default music service like Spotify when they ask to play a song using Siri. When you ask Siri to play a song on the upcoming iOS 14.5, you would be prompted to select which app you want to use to play it, reports MacRumors. Apple last week released beta versions of upcoming iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 updates to developers and public beta testers.
