  The 2021 season of Indian Premier League has been suspended after some players were found Covid-19 positive, said the organisers of the marquee cricket tournament on Tuesday. "The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect," IPL said in the statement. "The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL.   The BCCI will reschedule Wednesday's IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals here as CSK has been forced into hard quarantine after bowling coach L Balaji tested positive for COVID-19. As per the Board's Standard Operating Procedure, anyone who has come in contact with an infected person has to undergo six days of hard quarantine and return three negative RT-PCR reports during the course of it. "Tomorrow's match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium between CSK and RR will be rescheduled as per SOP rules. As Balaji was in contact with the players, all of them have gone into hard quarantine.   Australia Adam Zampa said that the bio-bubble for the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) 2021 is the most vulnerable one he has been in so far due to the Covid-19 situation in India. "We've been in a few (bubbles) now, and I feel like this is probably the most vulnerable," Zampa told The Sydney Morning Herald. Zampa said that the tournament should have been held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as it was last year. "I just feel like because it's India, we're always being told about the hygiene over here and being extra careful ... I just felt like it was the most vulnerable.   With the Indian government opening up the process of COVID-19 vaccination for every citizen above the age of 18 from May 1, all eyes are now on the cricketers who are plying their trade in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League . Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir feels Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) should rope in Australian swashbuckling batsman Glenn Maxwell in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction on Thursday. The IPL 2021 Player Auction list was announced last week, with a total of 292 cricketers set to go under the hammer in Chennai on February 18. Gambhir said Maxwell's inclusion in the RCB camp will reduce pressure off skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. "They (RCB) would need some quality players because they have let go of some quality players - Moeen Ali and Umesh Yadav for example. Australia's Glenn Maxwell has said he would like to go to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming Indian Premier League ( IPL  2021 ) so that he can get to bat with his "idol" AB de Villiers. Maxwell will be in the player pool in the IPL auction, which will be held on February 18, after being released by Kings XI Punjab. "That'll be awesome. Veteran India batsman  Robin Uthappa  has been traded to  Chennai Super Kings  in an all-cash deal, IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals said on Thursday. The 35-year-old right-hander from Karnataka had scored just 196 runs in 12 matches in the last IPL in UAE after being picked up by Rajasthan Royals at the last IPL auctions.
