The budget smartphone will be available in prism blue and prism black colours from January 25 on Realme online portal, Flipkart, and select offline stores. Android 13 to add faster shortcuts for scanning QR codes: Report

  Android 12 has brought a lot of additional features and now a new report has claimed that the next-gen Android 13 platform may add the ability to launch QR code scans via the lock screen. According to Android Police, the screenshots show that one will get an option to enable "show QR scanner" on the lock screen. This feature is visible in the quick toggle settings. While Google might be planning to add this feature now, Samsung already offers this option. OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man Edition's India pricing revealed ahead of launch

  Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is gearing up to launch in India the Oneplus Nord 2 5G Pac-Man Edition . Ahead of the launch, however, the smartphone’s India pricing has been revealed by Amazon on its product listing page. The OnePlus limited edition smartphone will be available at a premium of Rs 3,000 (Rs 37,999) over the standard model (Rs 34,999) of similar specifications.   Google launched the latest Google Pixel smartphones Tuesday, betting on its first custom-designed system processor and a new version of the Android operating system to lure buyers away from Apple Inc.’s iPhone. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro differ only slightly in size, memory and camera specs, with both built around Google’s Tensor system-on-chip, a custom semiconductor that took four years of development. Tensor is optimized for Google’s strengths in image processing and artificial intelligence, helping deliver faster and more accurate speech recognition and better battery life. While Google’s Android is the top smartphone operating system globally, the Alphabet Inc. unit has a minuscule market share in mobile handsets. In the premium segment, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G , and Mi 11X Series received maximum demand, followed by Redmi Note 10S and Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi 9 Series in the mid value segment.   HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, on Monday launched the 'Nokia C01 Plus', the latest addition to its C-series smartphones with a strategic partnership with Reliance Retail Ltd in India. The Nokia C01 Plus is available in India starting Monday in blue and purple colour variants for Rs 5,999 across leading offline retail stores, e-commerce platforms and Nokia.com. Apple's iPhone 13 Pro to have max storage ever of 1TB: Report

  Tech giant Apple is set to launch the iPhone 13 series on September 14 and now ahead of the official announcement, reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed the expected storage capacities for the iPhone 13 lineup. According to Kuo, the iPhone 13 lineup will start with 128GB of storage, with no 64GB option for any models. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available with up to 1TB of storage, which would be the largest capacity ever offered for an iPhone, reports MacRumors. Like other 2021 events, Apple confirmed that the September launch event will also take place virtually. Vivo X70 Pro+ likely to be unveiled with 50MP camera: Report

  Global smartphone brand Vivo is likely to launch its upcoming smartphone -- Vivo X70 Pro + -- with 50MP primary camera and Snapdragon 888+ chipset on September 9. According to GSMArena, the shooters, developed alongside Zeiss, will include a 50MP 1/1.31" main snapper and a periscope lens. The main camera will have a Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor. The ultra-wide-angle snapper will come with Sony IMX598 48MP sensor behind, while the third cam will be a dedicated shooter for portraits. Its sensor will be 12MP Sony IMX663 and will offer 2x magnification. The periscope cam will have an 8MP sensor and will support 5x zoom. OPPO files over 125 patents from its newly established Camera Lab in India

  Chinese mobile phone maker Oppo on Tuesday said it has filed over 125 patents from its Camera Lab, established recently in India. Tasleem Arif, vice president, India research and development head, Oppo, said the company is determined to push artificial intelligence capabilities to bring high-end videography innovation to the users. "The newly launched camera lab is designed to develop localised features, camera solutions using AI and focus on developing imaging software for a better user experience. To strengthen our focus on Camera technology, our India team have already filed over 125 patents in this domain and out of these more than 50 per cent are into AI in Camera," Arif said. The lab in India aims to pursue innovations to support Oppo's leadership in imaging technology, including camera system and module innovation, computation optimisation, and algorithm research, he added. Google releases another beta version of Android 12 OS for developers

  Google has released the fourth beta of its upcoming Android 12 operating system that offers several new consumer-focused capabilities for the developers including Game Mode, AppSearch, new notification style for phone calls and others. The Game Mode allows developers to optimise gameplay by prioritizing characteristics, such as performance or battery life based on users settings or game specific configurations. Android 12 introduces AppSearch, a high-performance on-device search engine, as a system service. Samsung to launch new foldable phones with lower price tags

  Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil its latest Samsung foldable smartphones next month with lower price tags compared with its predecessors, industry sources said on Saturday. The South Korean tech giant is expected to start sales of the Galaxy Z Fold3 at around 1.99 million won ($1,744), which is 17 percent lower than the 2.39 million won set for the previous model, according to the sources. The price of the Galaxy Z Flip3 is also expected to be around 22 percent lower than the predecessor at 1.28 million won, reports Yonhap news agency.
