Despite a last-minute surge in the number of Omicron cases, the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2022 in Las Vegas last week managed to deliver a stellar line-up of next-generation technology and gadgets in-person.

1. Sony Vision-S 02 electric SUV concept

Sony unveiled a follow-up to the electric car that it unveiled at the same event two years ago. Named Sony Vision-S 02, it is a 7-seater SUV and uses the same EV/Cloud platform as the prototype (Vision-S 01).

Vision-S 02 SUV measures 4.9m in length, 1.9m in width and 1.6m in height. With these dimensions, its size is comparable to that of the Tesla Model Y. Click Here

  Tech major Garmin on Thursday launched its latest premium smartwatch -- Fenix7 Series and epix, as it expands its wearables business in India. Garmin Fenix 7 series is the industry's first smartwatch with a built-in flashlight and also has an array of features like enhanced solar cell efficiency and longer battery life. This outdoor series features wear-resistant, scratch-resistant and anti-reflective high standard power sapphire as well as a highly permeable patented solar panel, Garmin said in a statement. Facebook parent Meta's social VR platform Horizon hits 300,000 users

  Meta's social virtual reality (VR) platform Horizon has reached 300,000 monthly users, a growth of 10 times since its roll-out in early December. According to a report in The Verge, Meta spokesperson Joe Osborne confirmed this, saying it included users of Horizon Worlds and Horizon Venues which is a separate app for attending live events in VR. Horizon Worlds was rolled out to Oculus Quest VR headset users in the US and Canada in early December. "It's time. 10,000 worlds have already been created. Drop in and play, build or just hang out. The possibilities are endless," Horizon Worlds posted in a tweet. Horizon Worlds was recently featured in Meta's Super Bowl ad, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called it "core to our metaverse vision".
